RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Rapidly design, develop, and test highly reliable electronics for communicating with our Platforms.
- Drive electrical architecture, specification, component selection, schematic capture, circuit board layout design, implementation, low-level firmware development, verification, board bring-up, and debugging.
- Partner with software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing teams, and production test teams.
- Derive engineering justification to resolve production issues throughout assembly, test, and vehicle integration
- Generate and maintain design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and verification test reports.
- Support board bring-up, integration, and qualification testing to ensure flight-ready reliability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a similar field AND 8 years of relevant experience.
or Master’s degree AND 6 years of experience.
or PhD AND 3 years of experience
Relevant Experience: working in space, aerospace, or equivalent professional environments with direct hands-on experience developing complex electrical power conversion systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Hands-on experience designing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production
Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer)
Strong skills in testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics
Experience working in cross-functional teams across software, mechanical, and manufacturing
Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python or C/C++
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Min. 5+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly reliable products.
Min. 5+ years of electronic product experience designing hardware from concept through production; strong emphasis on full life cycle development of new hardware products and not small incremental updates to legacy hardware.
Min. 5+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit host boards from concept through production using processors, FPGAs, SoCs, and SoMs. Experience implementing Ethernet, multi-GHz SerDes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4), PCIe, I2C, SPI, operational amplifiers, analog to digital and digital to analog converters, and power supply components.
Min. 5+ years of professional experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics.
Experience working in military or aerospace industries with a strong background in MIL-STD-461, 464, 810, DO-160 compliance, or similar industrial/automotive standards.
Strong understanding of computers and programming languages (Python, C/C++).
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role.
Self-starter with demonstrated experience on multiple projects, making hardware work within demanding time and resource constraints
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
Ability to pick up to 50lbs
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
