Sr. Design Engineer - Structural

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead design of industrial buildings, warehouses, platforms, pipe racks, equipment supports, and structural frames.
• Perform structural analysis and design calculations; design bolted and welded connections.
• Develop and review drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical documentation.
• Ensure integrity, stability, strength, and serviceability; verify compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate across engineering disciplines; review and approve deliverables within assigned authority.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, identify design issues, and recommend practical solutions.
• Join technical meetings and deliver work to schedule, quality, and safety requirements.

Technical expertise and software

• Expertise includes steel design and analysis, stability, load calculations, framing, pipe racks, platforms, access structures, equipment supports, anchor bolts, and design verification.
• Preferred software includes STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, and Revit Structure; IDEA StatiCa is preferred for connection design.

Codes and standards

• Working knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, AWS D1.1, Eurocode 3, and applicable Saudi Building Code requirements.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• A master's degree in Structural Engineering is an advantage.
• Minimum 8–12 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on steel structure design experience, preferably in industrial, oil and gas, construction, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven structural analysis, calculation, design review, and engineering coordination experience.
• Consultant, EPC contractor, or major construction project experience is preferred.
