Role overview

Business analysis and delivery

• Elicit, prioritize, validate, and manage complex business, functional, non-functional, and system requirements.
• Translate needs into specifications, user stories, process models, acceptance criteria, and solution documentation.
• Lead workshops; analyze current-state processes; recommend future-state solutions; maintain traceability and manage changes.
• Partner with developers, QA, data teams, architects, business stakeholders, and vendors to design and implement solutions.
• Support application configuration, backlog refinement, sprint and release planning, production readiness, and implementation.
• Analyze production issues, investigate root causes, plan remediation, and maintain delivery documentation.

Testing and stakeholder leadership

• Develop or review test scenarios and coordinate system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Track defects, requirements gaps, and implementation risks; support change readiness, training, communications, and knowledge transfer.
• Validate post-implementation outcomes and recommend improvements to performance, usability, and business value.
• Build stakeholder relationships, communicate complex information, facilitate decisions, resolve ambiguity, and support alignment.
• Provide informal guidance to analysts and contribute to consistent standards, templates, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• At least five years in business analysis, business systems analysis, systems delivery, application implementation, or a related role.
• Experience leading complex cross-functional analysis throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Commercial P&C insurance experience in a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst role.
• Experience with enterprise applications, policy administration, integrations, reporting, data-centric solutions, Agile delivery, and vendor collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred; equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and practical experience are considered.
• English fluency is required; French proficiency is an asset.

Technical and domain skills

• Requirements elicitation and management, process analysis, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability.
• Current- and future-state process modeling using workflow diagrams, process maps, or similar methods.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Analysis of enterprise applications, interfaces, APIs, integrations, and data flows.
• Testing support including test planning, functional, regression and integration testing, defect triage, and UAT.
• Agile practices including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and release planning.
• Commercial insurance workflows, products, underwriting, policy administration, and related business processes.
• IIBA, project management, Agile, or related certification is an asset.

Compensation

• The anticipated base salary range is $90,000–$110,000; no salary cadence is stated.

Workplace

• The employer describes a hybrid model combining office and remote work, with flexibility based on role and business needs.
• The current office is in downtown Toronto; employees in provinces without an office remain remote until an office is established there.
