Job Summary

  • The role is responsible for defining and leading Commercial Bank of Qatar’s enterprise-wide procurement, commercial strategy, and strategic partnership agenda.
  • The role will position procurement and commercial capability as a core enterprise-wide strategic lever for the Bank, driving cost efficiency, innovation, resilience, and value creation across all business and functional areas.
  • Operating at the intersection of business, technology, and external ecosystems, the role will shape and deliver a future-fit, enterprise-wide commercial model for the Bank, leveraging supplier networks, partnerships, and market opportunities to enhance long-term competitive advantage.
  • The role will play a key role in the Bank’s strategy and transformation agenda, contributing to enterprise-wide decision-making and value creation

  • Enterprise-wide accountability across procurement, third-party commercial activity, and external partnerships
  • Coverage across all business lines, technology, operations, and corporate functions
  • Strategic ownership of the Bank’s enterprise-wide supplier ecosystem, partnerships, and external innovation channels
  • Leadership of a Bank-wide agenda spanning procurement, commercial management, partnerships, and ecosystem strategy

Key Responsibilties Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

  • Define and lead the Bank’s enterprise-wide procurement strategy, covering all categories
  • Establish best-in-class source-to-contract and category management frameworks over time
  • Drive enterprise-wide value creation beyond cost, including demand management and specification optimisation
  • Embed data-driven procurement and digital enablement across the Bank

Cost Management & Supply Chain Optimisation

  • Lead enterprise-wide cost optimisation and efficiency programmes aligned to Bank priorities
  • Develop a structured approach to total cost of ownership (TCO) and demand governance across the organisation
  • Enhance supply chain resilience, performance, and operational efficiency across critical suppliers

Commercial Management (Policy and Execution)

  • Define and implement enterprise-wide commercial policies, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Elevate contracting excellence, negotiation capability, and commercial discipline across the Bank
  • Ensure alignment between commercial strategy and broader enterprise objectives

Strategic Vendor & Supplier Ecosystem Management

  • Establish a structured approach to enterprise-wide strategic vendor engagement and segmentation
  • Build long-term, value-driven supplier relationships aligned to Bank priorities
  • Drive innovation, performance, and transparency across key suppliers and partners

Third-Party Risk Management

  • Oversee the evolution of the Bank’s enterprise-wide third-party risk management framework
  • Ensure robust governance across vendor risk, partnering closely with Regulatory Compliance and Operational Risk / Resilience to enable effective enterprise-wide oversight
  • Support alignment with regulatory expectations and internal risk frameworks

Commercial Partnerships

  • Define and lead the Bank’s enterprise-wide commercial partnerships strategy
  • Identify, structure, and activate partnerships that support growth, capability enhancement, and market differentiation
  • Work closely with business leadership to originate and scale partnership opportunities over time

FinTech and “NextTech” Partnerships

  • Lead enterprise-level engagement with FinTech and emerging technology ecosystems, positioning the Bank at the forefront of innovation
  • Translate external innovation into tangible commercial, digital, and operational outcomes across the Bank
  • Partner with Technology and Digital leadership to accelerate adoption and integration at scale

Ventures and Strategic Initiatives

  • Support the identification and development of enterprise-aligned venture opportunities and strategic investments
  • Evaluate and activate opportunities that contribute to the Bank’s long-term growth and innovation agenda
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to incubate, scale, and govern strategic initiatives over time

Leadership and Operating Model

  • Act as a strategic advisor and partner to the Bank COO and Executive Committee
  • Work closely with Business, Technology, Risk, Finance, and Operations leadership across the Bank
  • Build and lead a high-performing, enterprise-wide procurement and commercial organisation over time
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and value creation across the enterprise

Candidate Profile (High-Level)

  • Proven experience operating at senior executive / Chief Officer level within banking or complex global organisations
  • Track record of leading enterprise-wide transformation and value creation programmes
  • Deep understanding of commercial strategy, supplier ecosystems, and partnership models at scale
  • Ability to operate effectively at Executive Committee level, influencing across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience working across business, technology, and operational domains

Success Measures (Indicative)

  • Measurable impact on enterprise-wide cost efficiency and value creation over time
  • Progressive maturity of enterprise procurement and commercial capabilities
  • Strength and strategic impact of the supplier and partnership ecosystem across the Bank
  • Contribution to innovation, growth, and operational resilience at enterprise level

Qualifications & Experience Minimum Qualifications: BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field MSc/MBA is a plus.

Minimum Experience 15 years in a related field.
