Sr Accountant (Joinery Division)

About This Role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will oversee financial operations specific to the Joinery division, including project costing, inventory control, revenue tracking, and financial reporting. The role requires strong experience in manufacturing or joinery/fit-out environments, with a focus on cost control and profitability analysis.

Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accurate accounting records
• Handle month-end and year-end closing processes
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and company policies

2. Project & Job Costing (Critical for Joinery)

• Monitor and control project costs (materials, labor, overheads)
• Analyze job profitability and cost variances
• Work closely with production and project teams to track budgets
• Maintain Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules

3. Inventory & Material Control

• Oversee inventory accounting for raw materials (wood, fittings, hardware)
• Monitor stock movement, wastage, and reconciliation
• Coordinate with stores and procurement teams
• Ensure proper valuation of inventory

4. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Supervise supplier payments and customer collections
• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely follow-ups
• Handle subcontractor payments related to joinery projects

5. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in preparing budgets for joinery operations
• Track actual performance vs. budget
• Provide variance analysis and recommendations

6. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure VAT compliance (UAE VAT knowledge preferred)
• Support internal and external audits
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails

7. Process Improvement

• Implement cost control measures
• Improve accounting processes and ERP usage
• Support automation and efficiency initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) preferred
• 5–8+ years of experience, preferably in joinery, manufacturing, or fit-out industry
• Strong knowledge of job costing and inventory accounting
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar)
• Good understanding of UAE VAT regulations
• Advanced Excel skills
