Role overview
Supports enterprise cybersecurity and vulnerability management initiatives through Splunk analysis, metrics, and reporting.
Helps stakeholders understand application-level vulnerabilities and their relationship to systems and mission impacts.
Responsibilities
- Analyze security logs, telemetry, and vulnerability data in the DoD SCCA VDMS environment.
- Build data models and correlation searches that connect infrastructure logs with application-level visibility.
- Produce analytics and compliance reporting on workload health, security posture, and remediation progress.
- Develop and maintain Splunk searches, dashboards, reports, scorecards, metrics, and visualizations.
- Identify trends, patterns, and risks; correlate vulnerabilities with applications, systems, services, and mission functions.
- Work with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to develop reporting solutions.
- Investigate data quality and normalization issues, document analytic methods, and recommend reporting improvements.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance required.
- IAT II (Security+) or higher-level certification required.
- Familiarity with DoD SCCA and VDMS centralized logging and monitoring practices.
- Experience with enterprise defense-cloud logs, security telemetry, Splunk analytics, vulnerability data, and large datasets.
- Experience creating Splunk searches, reports, dashboards, visualizations, and alerts.
- Understanding of vulnerability management, CVEs, patch management, and remediation workflows.
- Ability to translate stakeholder needs into metrics and reporting; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Splunk-related certification highly desired.
