Role overview

The role is with Spirit AeroSystems’ Defense Business Unit, an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace.

The position leads project and program delivery, potentially across multiple projects and long implementation time frames.

Location

  • This position is 100% on-site at the Boeing Wichita location.

Position responsibilities

  • Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control, and close projects and programs; manage multiple unrelated projects when needed.
  • Apply PMI, Spirit Defense, and Agile methodologies, tools, and templates.
  • Develop timelines, project plans, and artifacts with supporting departments.
  • Manage schedules, status, risks, issues, resources, gaps, analysis, and meetings.
  • Direct matrixed internal and external project teams and ensure processes and schedules are followed.
  • Set cost, quality, sequencing, due-date, and milestone expectations and coordinate timely delivery.
  • Monitor progress, correct course, manage project plans, and remove barriers.
  • Support related projects and programs with integration and efficiency; develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and stakeholder communications; present information to gain cooperation and resolve issues.

Basic qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access; U.S. Government requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field and 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects.

Preferred qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • IT Analyst, Business Analyst, or Financial Analyst background; cost management experience.
  • PMP certification and Tableau experience.
  • Broad understanding of IT processes, infrastructure, and applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Pay and benefits

  • Summary pay range is $113,100–$173,400 per year; pay depends on experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
  • Eligible employees may enroll in health, savings, insurance, retirement, and time-away programs; available programs vary by eligibility and collective bargaining terms.
  • Eligible employees may qualify for a Kansas aviation tax credit of $5,000 for up to five years.

The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is required; interim and/or final Secret clearance is required after starting.
