About This Role
Overview
We are seeking a qualified Specialist Paediatric Cardiac Surgeon to join a tertiary-care cardiac service in Abu Dhabi.
The role involves the surgical management of congenital and acquired cardiac conditions in neonates, infants, and children, working under consultant supervision within a highly specialized multidisciplinary cardiac team.
The successful candidate will contribute to safe, high-quality surgical care, service delivery, and ongoing development of paediatric cardiac surgical services.
Clinical Duties
- Assist in and perform paediatric cardiac surgical procedures appropriate to specialist level
- Manage pre-operative assessment and post-operative care for paediatric cardiac surgery patients
- Participate in emergency and on-call rotas as required
- Monitor patient progress and manage complications under consultant guidance
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Consultant paediatric cardiac surgeons
- Paediatric cardiologists and intensivists
- Anaesthesiology, perfusion, and nursing teams
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions
Governance & Quality
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Comply with DOH (HAAD) regulations, hospital policies, and international best practices
- Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and quality initiatives
- Support teaching and supervision of junior trainees where applicable
