About This Role
Job Purpose
Assist in ensuring that the financial activities of National Federations (NFs) are compliant with relevant regulations, internal policies, and SOPC guidelines.
The role supports the Manager in monitoring the accuracy of financial records, tracking budget expenditures, and identifying potential financial risks.
Additionally, the Specialist aids in audit documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives, while learning and applying auditing best practices to contribute to the integrity and transparency of NFs' financial operations.
Financial Compliance and Integrity
- Support the Manager in ensuring that financial activities within National Federations (NFs) comply with SOPC policies and relevant laws, contributing to the maintenance of financial integrity.
- Help track and document financial transactions to ensure they follow the required internal controls and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in identifying minor discrepancies or issues in financial records and bring them to the attention of the Senior Manager for further review.
Budget Oversight and Financial Planning
- Support in monitoring NFs' budget expenditure to confirm adherence to approved budgets and financial plans.
- Help gather data and assist in identifying any deviations from the planned budget and financial forecast, compiling this information for further analysis by senior colleagues.
- Assist in preparing basic financial reports and documentation related to budgeting, ensuring accuracy in data entry and reporting.
Risk Management and Financial Control
- Assist in identifying potential financial risks within NFs' operations, documenting them for review by the Manager.
- Assist in documenting corrective actions taken in response to identified financial risks, ensuring proper tracking and reporting.
- Help track the application of internal financial controls within NFs, ensuring compliance with established procedures and policies.
Audit Reporting and Recommendations
- Help gather and organize financial data for audits, ensuring that records are accurate and ready for review by the Manager.
- Assist in preparing initial audit files, ensuring that all necessary documents are compiled and presented in an organized manner for audit reviews.
- Provide assistance in drafting basic sections of audit reports, summarizing findings, and preparing them for review by the Manager.
Continuous Improvement & Professional Development
- Stay informed about financial auditing standards and regulations to enhance your skills and apply them in the context of NFs.
- Help in identifying areas where financial auditing processes can be improved, contributing ideas or suggestions for enhanced efficiency.
- Actively engage in internal or external training programs to develop a solid understanding of financial auditing and enhance job performance.
Record Keeping and Documentation
- Maintain accurate and organized audit documentation, ensuring financial records, audit findings, and related materials are readily accessible for reference or future audits.
- Update and organize audit records to support tracking of NF compliance over time and provide easy access for SOPC audit reviews.
