Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Instruct individuals and groups in special education skill areas.
  • Provide specially designed instruction for eligible special education students.
  • Plan curriculum and lessons.
  • Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
  • Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
  • Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.
  • Maintain contact with parents of students and/or professionals concerning student progress.
  • When appropriate, develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs of students
  • Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.
  • Function as integral member of treatment/IEP team, addressing needs of students.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Special Education required Master's Degree strongly preferred Experience working as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education required
  • Master's Degree strongly preferred
  • Experience working as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
  • Professional Certifications PDE Special Education Certification PK-12 or PK-8 required Special Education Pk-12 certification preferred
  • PDE Special Education Certification PK-12 or PK-8 required
  • Special Education Pk-12 certification preferred

Schedule

  • 7.5 hours a day; 190 days per year (194 year one; 191 year two) Salary (2026 - 2027 School-Year): Instructional I: $62,155 - $89,730/yr. Instructional II: $64,834 - $93,324/yr. Master's Degree: $69,353 - $101,911/yr. Master's + 15: $72,740 - $105,924/yr.
