Spare Parts Technician

Job Objective

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out all activities related to receiving, managing, and maintaining spare parts inventory.
• Manage spare parts stock movement in the warehouse including inbound and outbound and ensure orders are executed properly with necessary records.
• Verify quantities against delivery notes and packing lists and ensure no discrepancies or damage in received parts.
• Ensure spare parts are stored, classified, and labeled correctly.
• Supervise packing of spare parts and complete required documents to support shipping to requesting sites.
• Review consumption reports and demand forecasts to estimate peak consumption periods and discuss with spare parts managers and procurement and planning supervisors.
• Inform head office spare parts team of high demand for any spare part for order planning.
• Ensure minimum required safety stock of spare parts is maintained.
• Ensure highest level of warehouse cleanliness and correct application of safety and security procedures.
• Inspect physical condition of warehouses and equipment and request testing, maintenance, repair, or replacement as needed.
• Review pending reports daily and assist technicians in identifying correct part numbers, alternative part numbers, and other solutions.
• Determine appropriate storage methods, ABC classifications, and storage locations based on turnover, environmental factors, and available space.

Service Levels

• Prepare, transport, and ship required spare parts within 24 hours.
• Issue required and available spare parts to technicians within 3 hours.
• Maintain inventory accuracy at 98%.
• Register received spare parts in the system within 24 hours of receipt from the shipping company.

Job Requirements

• Higher diploma or equivalent.
