Job Summary
The Spare Parts Engineer is responsible for managing, identifying, sourcing, and optimizing spare parts for industrial machinery and equipment.
The role ensures the availability of critical spare parts to minimize downtime, improve maintenance efficiency, and support operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate spare parts requirements for machinery and equipment.
- Maintain and update spare parts catalogs, databases, and inventory records.
- Coordinate with maintenance, procurement, and suppliers to ensure timely availability of spare parts.
- Analyze equipment breakdowns and recommend appropriate spare parts solutions.
- Review technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine correct spare parts.
- Monitor inventory levels and establish minimum and maximum stock requirements.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities by providing technical spare parts expertise.
- Evaluate spare parts quality and ensure compliance with technical standards.
- Prepare technical reports, cost analyses, and spare parts recommendations.
- Assist in vendor selection and technical evaluation of suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in machinery maintenance, spare parts management, or industrial operations.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, equipment systems, and maintenance practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
Preferred Skills
- Inventory management and spare parts planning.
- Technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Supplier coordination and procurement support.
- Familiarity with industrial machinery and rotating equipment
