Position
Commis I – South Indian in the Food Production department at Hotel Kiscol Grands, Coimbatore.
Prepares South Indian cuisine while maintaining food quality, consistency, hygiene, and food safety.
Kitchen responsibilities
- Prepare South Indian breakfast items, meals, curries, gravies, and traditional specialties.
- Ensure consistent taste, presentation, portion control, and quality.
- Monitor ingredient availability and freshness and ensure proper storage.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene according to hotel standards.
- Follow standard recipes, food safety procedures, and FIFO practices.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team for timely food preparation and service.
- Minimize food wastage and control raw materials.
- Assist senior chefs with menu planning, buffet preparation, and daily kitchen operations.
Qualifications and experience
- Relevant knowledge of South Indian cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in hotel or restaurant kitchens, preferably in South Indian cuisine.
- A diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or Food Production is preferred; experience in a reputed hotel is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen sanitation; good culinary skills, time management, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate with the kitchen team.
Pay and benefits
- Pay is ₹20,000–₹25,000 per month.
- Benefits include food, paid time off, and Provident Fund.
