Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate **Sous Chef** to support the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations.
The Sous Chef will assist in food preparation, menu planning, staff supervision, quality control, food safety compliance, and maintaining high culinary standards to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in the daily management of kitchen operations.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during food preparation and service.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to hotel standards.
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with HACCP requirements.
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate food ordering and receiving.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen team members.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of food products.
- Handle guest feedback and special dietary requests professionally.
- Support the Executive Chef in achieving departmental goals and budgets.
- Act as the Executive Chef in their absence.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a hotel or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of international cuisine and food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel.
- Experience in menu engineering and food cost control.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
