Software QA Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, UI, and database testing.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium with Python or Java, or Playwright.
• Validate backend data with SQL queries; execute API testing and validation.
• Review requirements, test cases, and test artifacts for quality coverage.
• Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and resolution verification.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners, and QA teams.
• Maintain test documentation, execution reports, and quality metrics.
• Contribute to automation framework enhancements and migration initiatives.

Mandatory skills and candidate profile

• At least 4 years of QA experience.
• Strong experience in manual testing, automation testing, API testing, database testing, and test documentation and reviews.
• Intermediate SQL proficiency, including complex queries, joins, and backend data validation.
• Intermediate Python proficiency and ability to write reusable automation scripts and framework components.
• Intermediate Selenium and PyTest proficiency; Git is mandatory.
• Experience validating REST APIs, web applications, and database data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and within Agile teams.
• Candidates should be comfortable reviewing requirements, preparing test strategies, and conducting peer reviews.

Tools and preferred experience

• Current tools include Selenium, PyTest, ReadyAPI, Git, JIRA, SpiraTest/SpiraTeam, and TestRail; Confluence is also listed.
• Playwright, Agile/Scrum, automation framework migration, and CI/CD exposure are beneficial or good to have.
• Healthcare, life sciences, patient access and support services, or pharmaceutical services experience is preferred.
