Role Description

The Software Product Manager will lead the planning, development, and evolution of digital platforms and tools that support UCN’s climate engagement and collaboration activities.

This part-time, hybrid role is based in Abu Dhabi, with a mix of on-site coordination and flexible work-from-home arrangements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include defining product vision and roadmaps, gathering and prioritizing requirements from diverse stakeholders, and aligning software features with the network’s strategic objectives.

The role involves close collaboration with developers, researchers, and program teams to manage product backlogs, oversee implementation, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

The Software Product Manager will monitor product performance, analyze user feedback and usage data, and recommend enhancements that improve usability, impact, and scalability across member institutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong Software Product Management and Product Management skills to define vision, roadmap, and feature priorities.
  • Experience in Software Development to collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate requirements into solution designs.
  • Robust Project Management capabilities to coordinate timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret user data, measure product performance, and support evidence-based decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
  • Experience working with academic, nonprofit, or climate/sustainability-focused initiatives is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, manage competing priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, or similar) and familiarity with agile or iterative development methodologies.
