What you would do

• Drive team efforts and uphold code quality, scalability, maintainability, readability, and high-load system design.
• Estimate and delegate work, manage a large engineering team, and keep teams aligned with goals.
• Drive software project design, strategy, and execution in support of product roadmaps; lead architecture and development.
• Oversee multiple Scrum teams and their progress; guide effort estimation for features and fixes.
• Maintain engineering and operational metrics, assess goals, improve delivery, and use data-driven execution for transparency.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on products and features.

What Genea is looking for

• 8+ years of total experience, including 3+ years of relevant team lead experience.
• Experience with microservices and event-driven architecture; backend proficiency, preferably JavaScript, with other technologies considered.
• Frontend proficiency, preferably React, with Angular, Vue, or other JavaScript-based frameworks also considered.
• Database proficiency such as MongoDB or RDBMS; Genea uses PostgreSQL.
• Strong SDLC understanding and experience guiding planning, development, and rollout using agile practices.
• Work estimation and delegation experience is preferred; understanding of unit and integration testing is required.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams of managers and senior engineers across projects and technologies.
• Strong articulation, cross-functional collaboration, influencing, relationship management, project management, problem-solving, and change management skills.
• AWS experience is highly preferred; the company uses EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, SNS, RDS, and SQS.
• Strategic thinking and ability to formulate product and business strategies; customer-service skills and professionalism are valued.
