Role overview
L2L seeks a Software Engineer to join its mobile team and build a recently launched app used by frontline workers across hundreds of sites on iOS and Android.
The app uses a single React Native and Expo codebase; the role can influence both the product and how the team builds and releases it.
Mobile product engineering
- Build mobile features with React Native, Expo, and TypeScript.
- Develop hybrid native and web experiences, including biometric authentication, QR-code deep links, and in-app product browsing.
- Design for factory-floor conditions such as locked phones, patchy connectivity, and shared devices.
- Write tests and end-to-end flows for simulators, emulators, and physical devices.
Notifications and releases
- Own iOS and Android notification reliability from device registration through delivery, using logs and platform vitals to investigate behavior.
- Partner with backend engineers on services that determine notification recipients and timing.
- Run app-store builds, staged rollouts, over-the-air updates, and cross-platform version and runtime compatibility.
- Maintain and improve CI pipelines and release tooling; monitor adoption and errors after releases.
Engineering systems and user feedback
- Extend device automation and AI-assisted pipelines for reproducing reports, running end-to-end flows, capturing evidence, and verifying releases.
- Use AI coding tools, verify generated code, and share workflow improvements.
- Ship fixes and small features in the Python/Django backend and Vue frontend; coordinate API changes affecting mobile users.
- Analyze session and crash data, join customer calls and pilot rollouts, prioritize issues, and document investigations and releases.
Qualifications
- 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping a production mobile or frontend application.
- Strong TypeScript skills and working knowledge of React Native or React.
- Experience shipping a React Native or Expo app to both stores, or strong evidence of ability to learn quickly.
- Experience releasing to the Apple App Store and Google Play, including staged rollouts and post-release monitoring.
- A track record of turning an unclear report into a confirmed production fix and explaining how it was verified.
- Clear written communication in an asynchronous, distributed team.
- Device automation, end-to-end framework, or agentic coding tool experience is a plus.
- Experience with push notifications, hybrid WebView apps, authentication flows, or observability tools such as Sentry is a plus.
- Manufacturing, industrial software, or frontline workforce technology experience is a plus.
Location
- Applicants must be located in the greater Salt Lake City metro or Wasatch Front.
- The employer states it cannot provide sponsorship for this role.
