Role overview
Join a small team developing football data acquisition and analysis systems.
The team uses frontier LLM systems to generate structured data in real time from sources including social media.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain systems that turn social media and other unstructured online sources into timely structured data for internal models and trading systems.
- Implement and maintain relational database schemas and API integrations with internal modeling and trading systems.
- Enhance and refactor existing systems for scale and performance.
- Monitor and optimize system performance to maintain and improve low-latency pipelines.
- Work with football analysts to ensure data utility and accuracy.
Skills and experience
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL and/or other traditional relational databases.
- Strong Java (Spring) skills, experience with Python, and working knowledge of R.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and Docker containerization.
- Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs, particularly for real-time applications.
- Experience with analytics pipelines using LLMs to convert unstructured data to structured data; familiarity with prompt engineering and frontier model APIs.
- Proficiency with Git and modern deployment practices.
