Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer Level 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Huntsville, AL.
Essential Functions:
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 6 years of related experience, or 4 years of experience with a PhD.
- Extensive experience with embedded software development and low level software to hardware interfaces
- Extensive experience with Embedded software development
- Experience using NUnit
- Experience with Moq
- Experience developing software in a Windows environment
- Knowledge of SysUML
- Familiarity with Atlassian and Agile software development practices.
- Experience with Java, C++, C# and object-oriented SW development.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
- Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Experience with automated software requirements testing and analysis
- Experience with gRPC
- Experience with CMake
- Security+ certification
- Prior experience with the MDA GMD program.
- Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
- A current active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance
