Role Overview
The Software Engineer will develop the core engine of Zadara's high-performance, S3-compatible object storage solution.
The storage platform is designed for massive scale, high-throughput workloads, petabytes of data, and extreme durability.
The role supports localized, secure, and high-performance cloud storage within the Zadara Edge Cloud.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement object storage engine features with S3 API compatibility.
- Build distributed algorithms for data placement, replication, and erasure coding.
- Develop multithreaded, asynchronous backend services for concurrent I/O and high request rates.
- Optimize IOPs, throughput, CPU utilization, and memory utilization across edge-native clusters.
- Lead root cause analysis for distributed failures and performance regressions.
- Provide architectural solutions that improve long-term resilience.
- Coordinate architecture and release cycles with distributed engineering teams.
- Collaborate with QA and automation teams on storage test plans and deep system validation.
- Stay current with cloud computing trends and technologies.
Experience and Skills
- At least 3 years of professional experience is required.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++ or Golang are required.
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix platforms and concepts is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- High motivation to work in a dynamic and innovative startup is expected.
Education
- A bachelor's degree in computer science is required.
