Key Skills for This Role
Full Job Posting
A Typical Day in the Life Includes:
Develop and maintain well-scoped features across the AI Studio platform under the guidance of senior engineers — including Content API endpoints, Search Service utilities, and index management tooling.
Write and execute unit tests for new and existing platform components, contributing to overall code coverage and test suite health.
Implement contribution validation logic in the Content API — field type checks, controlled vocabulary enforcement, required field presence, and structured error responses.
Support the maintenance of OpenSearch index mappings and assist with debugging search queries that return unexpected results.
Participate in code reviews — both receiving feedback on your own code and developing the habit of reviewing peers' contributions constructively.
Assist with documentation — keeping API references, contribution guides, and internal technical notes accurate and up to date as the platform evolves.
Investigate and reproduce bugs reported by QA or component teams, providing clear root cause analysis and proposing fixes.
Attend architecture and planning discussions to build understanding of the broader system design and how individual components fit together.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent through internships, academic projects, or personal projects.
- Foundational proficiency in Python or Node.js — ability to read, understand, and contribute to an existing codebase.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs — familiarity with HTTP methods, request and response structures, status codes, and JSON payloads.
- Exposure to a version control system such as Git — comfortable with branching, committing, and raising pull requests.
- Ability to write basic unit tests and understand the purpose of automated testing in a production codebase.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn — AI Studio sits at the intersection of several evolving technologies and requires intellectual curiosity.
- Good written and verbal communication skills — ability to ask clear questions, document findings, and collaborate effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic or personal project exposure to LLMs, RAG systems, or AI application development — coursework, hackathon projects, or self-directed learning all count.
- Familiarity with search or database systems — any hands-on experience with OpenSearch, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, or GCP at a conceptual level, with any hands-on experience being an advantage.
- Exposure to JSON Schema or data validation patterns.
- Familiarity with Docker or containerisation concepts.
- Interest in or awareness of multi-agent AI systems and how LLMs are used in enterprise software products.
- Exposure to Infor OS or enterprise software ecosystems — relevant for understanding the domain context AI Studio operates in.
