Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications.
- Build backend services and APIs with Java and Spring Boot; develop responsive front ends with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices; develop and support AWS cloud applications.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code; troubleshoot production issues and implement reliable solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, database and distributed-systems work, testing, deployment, performance optimization, and production support.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams across the software development lifecycle.
SDE I qualifications
- 4+ years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on Java and Spring Boot; React and JavaScript/TypeScript; REST API development and integration; AWS and cloud application experience.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, Git, and modern software development practices.
- Strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills; experience building and supporting production applications.
SDE II qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Advanced hands-on Java, Spring Boot, and React experience; strong experience designing scalable backend services and APIs.
- Experience with microservices, distributed systems, AWS/cloud development, application architecture, system design, and performance optimization.
- Ability to independently own features and services from design through deployment and production support.
- Strong troubleshooting, testing, and code-review experience.
Preferred qualifications
- TypeScript and/or Python; Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines.
- Microservices and distributed architectures; SQL and NoSQL databases; automated or unit testing and performance optimization.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum engineering teams.
Work arrangement and eligibility
- Must work onsite five days per week in Boston, Massachusetts, or Seattle, Washington.
- This is a direct W-2 contract role with a full-time, eight-hour-per-day engagement and 40 expected hours per week.
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Pay
- Pay is USD 55–80 per hour.
