Software Development Engineer II

Key responsibilities

• ● Build robust, secure, and scalable microservices to power JioStar applications
• ● Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices, conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews
• ● Ensure sub-second server response times and implement appropriate data stores - relational, document, key-value, object, or graph - as well as index stores and messaging systems
• ● Take ownership of running and maintaining cloud infrastructure
• ● Continuously evaluate relevant technologies and influence architecture and design discussions
• ● Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deploy high-quality software solutions that meet business objectives
• ● Guide and mentor junior engineers and interns on functional and domain areas
• Skills and attributes for success:
• ● Proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python
• ● Experience building distributed domain-driven microservices
• ● Strong understanding of database and storage fundamentals
• ● Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), messaging systems (Kafka), and CI/CD pipelines
• ● Experience working on large-scale production systems, with a strong focus on performance and reliability is a plus
• ● Ability to translate ambiguous product requirements into well-structured, scalable technical solutions
• Preferred education and experience:
• ● Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field with 2-4 years of experience in backend development
