The SDE-AI is a senior engineer responsible for architecting and delivering mission-critical internal systems using AI-augmented development.
The role combines Claude, PHP, Symfony, and relational database expertise with sound judgment, code quality, architectural ownership, and system reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build full-stack systems from database schema to UI using PHP/Symfony and Claude AI.
- Own features from requirements, schema and API design through implementation, testing, deployment, and live support.
- Lead AI-assisted development, review and validate generated code, and correct mistakes.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and maintain code quality standards.
- Identify workflow, system, and data-model improvements and drive them to production.
- Investigate root causes of complex failures and resolve issues permanently.
- Maintain current architecture documentation, API specifications, and database schemas.
Requirements
- 6–7 years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated ownership from requirements through production.
- Expert PHP 8+ and Symfony proficiency; production experience with Symfony 5+ or a similar framework such as Laravel.
- Production experience with REST APIs, form handling, and security hardening.
- Deep relational database knowledge, particularly mandatory PostgreSQL; NoSQL is good to have.
- Prior AI-assisted development projects and hands-on Claude AI, Cursor, or similar experience are required.
- Mastery of Git; architectural ability to design for scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Strong written and verbal communication; diploma or degree in a relevant field or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
- Good understanding of AWS or Azure; front-end fundamentals including HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or React.
- Containerization and deployment experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD; Python or Bash scripting.
- Testing expertise, including unit and integration tests, TDD, and performance benchmarking; security practices including OWASP Top 10.
- Experience with advanced AI tooling, model limitations, and prompt engineering.
