Role overview

Java tech lead role building reliable, scalable, cloud-native services that power user experiences.

The role combines technical direction, hands-on microservices development, team coaching, and delivery ownership.

What you will do

  • Lead and mentor Java developers, conduct code reviews, and foster a collaborative learning culture.
  • Design and build cloud-native microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Develop robust REST APIs and own delivery from requirements through release.
  • Improve performance, security, reliability, scalability, observability, and resilience.
  • Partner with product teams to shape scope, manage timelines, surface risks, and deliver iteratively.
  • Enable CI/CD and modern DevOps practices for safe, repeatable releases.

What you will bring

  • At least 6 years of Java development experience, including at least 2 years leading or coaching engineers.
  • Strong Java and object-oriented programming skills with deep Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and REST experience.
  • Hands-on cloud-native architecture, Docker, and Kubernetes experience.
  • API design and integration experience, including secure coding and performance tuning.
  • Clear communication, problem-solving ability, and a passion for mentoring.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Azure or another major cloud provider.
  • Exposure to Jenkins, Git, DevOps tooling, and agile ways of working.
  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
