Responsibilities:
- Join BASF’s Environmental Compliance product team and help shape digital solutions that support product safety and regulatory compliance on a global scale. Our team owns the end-to-end DevOps lifecycle of SAP-based Product Compliance solutions covering product safety, dangerous goods, safety data sheets, substance volume tracking, labelling, hazardous substance management, waste management, and environmental protection.
- We are looking for a developer with a strong ABAP background with a focus on SAP Global Label Management (GLM) solutions who is interested in expanding beyond technical development and gradually building functional expertise in labelling, product compliance, and related business processes.
- Your responsibilities include
- Design, develop, test, maintain and operate SAP Global Label Management (GLM) solutions using modern ABAP and ABAP OO within an SAP S/4HANA environment.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, sustainable technical solutions and contribute to solution architecture and technical concept design.
- Support global labelling operations through incident analysis, troubleshooting, root cause investigation, and defect resolution.
- Drive implementations, enhancements, and rollouts in the labelling and product compliance domain while ensuring high development and software engineering standards.
- Design, maintain, and optimize label templates and printing processes using SAP GLM and Loftware across manufacturing, logistics, and regulatory use cases.
- Collaborate with business experts, key users, and global IT teams to continuously improve solutions and build expertise in labelling and product compliance, evolving into a trusted technical-functional consultant.
Requirements:
- Strong ABAP development expertise, including ABAP Objects and modern SAP development concepts.
- At least three years of hands-on experience with SAP EHS and SAP Global Label Management (GLM), including SAP development customizing, data models, and table structures.
- Ability to quickly understand and support custom SAP solutions and business processes from both functional and technical perspectives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with experience working in global cross-functional teams.
- Motivated to combine hands-on SAP development with building functional expertise in labelling, product compliance, and related business processes.
