Role overview

Develop customer-facing features for Amazon Speed + AI sub-same-day and ultra-fast delivery services.

Work at the intersection of software, fulfillment, and retail operations; code directly affects customer experience and delivery operations.

Own component designs that improve platform extensibility, scalability, availability, and latency.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable software solutions for the Speed shopping experience.
  • Collaborate across teams to build customer-facing features.
  • Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
  • Debug production issues and implement improvements.
  • Contribute technical documentation and mentor junior engineers.

Basic qualifications

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship system design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Programming experience in at least one software programming language.

Preferred qualifications

  • At least 3 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Speed + AI develops Sub-Same-Day Delivery and Rush shopping experiences for Amazon customers.

The team works on customer-facing innovations for fast delivery services.

Compensation

  • Base salary range in Bellevue, Washington: USD 143,700 to USD 194,400 annually.
  • Total compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units; final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, and location.
