Purpose
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that strengthen brand presence, engage audiences, and support business objectives.
The role focuses on creating impactful content, managing online communities, monitoring trends, and analyzing performance to continuously improve digital engagement.
The Social Media Specialist works closely with marketing, communications, customer engagement, and design teams to ensure a consistent brand voice and create meaningful connections with the audience.
Social Media Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement social media strategies aligned with business and marketing objectives.
- Create and maintain social media content calendars across all relevant platforms.
- Plan, create, publish, and optimize content across all social media platforms.
- Manage day-to-day social media activities and content schedules.
- Drive brand awareness, audience growth, and engagement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, platform updates, and best practices.
Content Creation & Management
- Create, edit, and publish engaging content including posts, stories, videos, graphics, and campaigns.
- Ensure all content reflects the organization's brand identity, tone of voice, and messaging guidelines.
- Coordinate with designers, photographers, videographers, and content creators to produce high-quality content.
- Adapt content for different social media platforms and audience segments.
Community Management
- Monitor social media channels and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster positive relationships with followers, customers, and online communities.
- Escalate customer service issues, complaints, or reputational risks to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Manage online conversations to strengthen brand loyalty and engagement.
Campaign Execution
- Support the planning and execution of social media campaigns, promotions, launches, and events.
- Coordinate campaign schedules and ensure timely delivery of content.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to integrate social media activities into broader marketing initiatives.
- Assist in influencer partnerships and social media collaborations when required.
Analytics & Reporting
- Track, analyze, and report on key social media performance metrics.
- Monitor audience growth, engagement rates, reach, impressions, and campaign effectiveness.
- Provide regular performance reports and actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Use data-driven insights to optimize content and campaign performance.
Brand Reputation & Compliance
- Ensure all social media activities comply with company policies, brand guidelines, and applicable regulations.
- Monitor brand mentions and online sentiment.
- Support crisis communication efforts and reputation management when necessary.
- Maintain accuracy, consistency, and professionalism across all social media communications.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with marketing, communications, commercial, customer engagement, operations, and other departments.
- Coordinate with external agencies, influencers, and vendors as required.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve digital engagement and brand visibility.
- Support special projects and additional marketing initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications And Experiences
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Business Administration, or any related field.
- Relevant professional certifications in Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, or Content Marketing are an advantage.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in social media management, digital marketing, content creation, or a related role.
- Proven experience managing social media platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, Snapchat and YouTube.
- Experience developing and executing social media campaigns that drive engagement and brand awareness.
- Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, algorithms, and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong content creation, copywriting, and storytelling abilities.
