Social Media Intern

The Social Media Intern is responsible for developing daily content for Tulsa Regional Tourism's social media platforms, particularly @VisitTulsa and @TulsaSportsCommission. This intern will manage user generated content, help coordinate the editorial calendar for original content, routinely update the media contacts list, and assist with other projects as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Track and manage user generated content on social media for @VisitTulsa and @TulsaSportsCommission.

Schedule 3 - 5 posts per week using user generated content for both @VisitTulsa and @TulsaSportsCommission.

Help coordinate editorial calendar and create original posts to share weekly Visit Tulsa blog content.

Assist in content development and research for other areas of VisitTulsa.com including attractions listings, About Tulsa section, etc.

Update media contacts list on a monthly basis.

Assist with earned media tracking as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Junior or Senior-level college student with relevant coursework or industry experience.

Knowledge of social media communications.

Good organizational skills.

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

Responds to emails and other forms of communication in a timely manner.

Works collaboratively with members of the Tulsa Regional Tourism staff.

Self-starter who does not need a tremendous amount of oversight and can find additional projects to provide assistance on, even if not assigned.

Work and Physical Requirements

Work environment: Remote with opportunity for in-office access as desired.

Physical requirements: Able to read, write, and interpret written documents.

Will work 15 - 20 hours per week.
