Snr Systems Engineer, Public Sector, Defence and Defence Industrial Base (UK&I)

WHAT YOU BRING

• 10+ years of relevant experience in pre-sales, systems engineering, solution architecture, or a similar customer facing technical role in the technology industry, ideally including experience with public sector, defence, or defence industrial base customers.
• Strong grounding in storage and infrastructure fundamentals; storage experience is strongly preferred, and post-sales experience can also be relevant if paired with customer facing commercial capability.
• Good understanding of block, file, and object storage, along with related technologies such as FC, iSCSI, NAS, SAN, virtualisation, and VMware-style environments.
• Familiarity with UK government and defence procurement frameworks (such as G-Cloud and Crown Commercial Service frameworks), security classifications, and accreditation processes is highly valuable.
• Ability to lead consultative technical discovery and engage confidently with senior customers, prospects, and partners across government, defence, and industry in both business and technical conversations.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly and credibly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior government and defence stakeholders.
• A collaborative, curious, and proactive working style, with a willingness to learn quickly, excellent technical discovery and qualification skills, and the confidence to ask questions when needed.
• Experience working with or through channel partners and defence industrial base primes and SMEs is highly valuable, as partner enablement is a significant part of the role.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Completed enhanced UK Government security vetting required.
• Note: this role can be based remotely anywhere in the UK. Regular travel across the UK to be on-site with customers and partners should be expected as a core part of the role.
