About This Role
Overview
Our client is an operations partner for high-volume, high-scale platforms in the crypto industry.
They run operations end-to-end for clients: systems, infrastructure, people, process, uptime, and execution.
They are looking to hire a site Reliability Engineer to take ownership of the backend pipeline powering one of their client platforms.
The architecture is live next month.
The stack works, but it has not yet been battle-tested under production traffic, real failure conditions, or scale.
Your role
- is to harden the platform before those moments arrive.
- You will own reliability across the full pipeline:
- on-chain ingestion
- indexers
- streaming systems
- PostgreSQL
- caches
- WebSocket infrastructure
- frontend delivery paths
- This is a high-accountability role with real authority.
- You will make infrastructure decisions, drive operational standards, and build the systems that keep the platform online under pressure.
What You’ll Do
- Own the reliability of the full backend pipeline
- Eliminate critical single points of failure
- Design scalable architecture decisions
- Build monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and runbooks
- Create and lead the on-call process
- Run stress testing, failover testing, and recovery drills
- Improve latency, throughput, and operational visibility
- Manage infrastructure cost and capacity planning
- Own backup and disaster recovery strategy
- Report operational risks and health directly to leadership
Required
- Strong production SRE / infrastructure experience
- Deep PostgreSQL operational expertise
- Experience with Kafka, Redpanda, NATS, or similar streaming systems
- Strong Linux and cloud infrastructure knowledge
- Ability to debug and ship code in Rust or TypeScript
- Experience operating high-throughput or low-latency systems
- Strong written communication and operational judgment
- Nice to Have
- Crypto infrastructure experience
- Solana or Ethereum indexing systems
- TimescaleDB or ClickHouse
- Early-stage startup infrastructure ownership
- Experience building incident response and postmortem culture
