Site Reliability Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Maintain global Tyk Cloud within defined service-level objectives and agreements.
• Identify reliability issues and resolve them with the squad.
• Introduce metrics and build dashboards.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Expand multi-region and multi-cloud platform reach.
• Document operational knowledge, SRE processes, and policies.
• Conduct post-incident analysis and automate common tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across delivery and customer collaboration.
• Improve operational efficiency and reduce running costs without impacting service.
• Assist with cloud penetration testing through provider coordination and environment setup.
• Manage incidents affecting clients and the platform.

Experience

• Strong collaboration skills.
• Experience launching and operating production-scale Kubernetes clusters.
• Experience designing and operating infrastructure on AWS and other providers.
• Experience operating MongoDB or another document database cluster.
• Experience operating Redis or another key-value storage cluster.
• Experience administering Linux servers and maintaining distributed software.
• Experience operating Prometheus, Grafana, and logging collection and analysis systems.
• Participation in an on-call rotation from 16:00 to 04:00 UTC.

Technical skills

• Advanced Kubernetes, containers, AWS/EKS, and Linux skills.
• Proficient Terraform and infrastructure-as-code skills.
• Proficient Helm skills.
• Familiarity with Go, MongoDB or similar databases, Redis or similar storage, Prometheus, Grafana, and Thanos.
• Understanding of subnets, routing, peering, load balancing, NAT, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, and UDP.
