Site Engineer - Fitout Works

Overview

• Job role will include but not be limited to:
• Liaising and coordinating with subcontractor's related to:
• Carpentry, Gypsum partitions, Painting, Flooring, Ceiling systems, Doors and hardware
• Ensure all interior works meet safety and quality standards
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for repair and renovation activities
• Supervision and coordination of site personnel and subcontractors
• Reporting of all relevant site activities and managing the quality of work performed
• Oversee and manage Health and Safety
• Ensure site works are being performed in accordance to policies and plans
• Arrange and deliver meetings as necessary to facilitate construction works
• Receive and review shop drawings
• Any other duties as directed by the Contracts manager
• Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation to understand the scope and requirements of Architectural/ Interior Fit-out projects.
• Quantify and take off materials required for Architectural/ Interior Fit-out projects, considering specifications, finishes, and quality standards.
• Source and request quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, equipment, and services.
• Analyze and compare supplier/subcontractor quotations to select the most cost-effective options.
• Calculate labor costs based on project requirements, manpower needs, and productivity rates.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material quantities, labor hours, equipment usage, subcontractor costs, and any other relevant expenses.
• Collaborate with the project team, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
• Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize costs without compromising quality and functionality.
• Maintain a database of historical cost data, including materials, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing, for reference in future estimates.
• Continuously monitor and track project costs and update estimates as necessary during the bidding and negotiation stages.
