Position overview
Full-time Shipping Operator position in CF Industries’ Distribution function, working under the direction of the Shift Supervisor.
Responsible for safe handling, storage, transfer, and loading of anhydrous ammonia and urea products.
Duties
- Champion a strong safety culture and follow environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Operate shipping, rail, and product-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Comply with Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Industrial Rail Regulations, Rail Security Program requirements, and departmental procedures.
- Monitor and inspect equipment, complete routine checks, record operating data, and monitor process conditions.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, identify repairs, and isolate equipment for maintenance.
- Maintain shift logs, checklists, and other operational records.
- Collaborate and communicate with employees, customers, and stakeholders.
- Maintain operator qualifications, complete training, support knowledge transfer, and help train new operators.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and support team objectives and internal controls.
- Respond to emergencies, including injuries, fires, environmental releases, and off-site ammonia incidents as required.
Required qualifications
- Grade Twelve diploma.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Good interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
Assets
- Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset.
- Experience with heavy equipment, rail movement, or pumps is considered an asset.
Schedule
- 12-hour rotating shifts with an on-call rotation.
