Job Summary
Assist senior chefs in preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency.
Role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary skills and grow within a fast-paced and collaborative kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Assist in preparing ingredients such as marinating meats, chopping vegetables, and making sauces for shawarma and other dishes.
2.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills and rotisseries.
3.
Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality.
4.
Maintain mise en place for assigned stations.
5.
Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and tasks.
6.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
7.
Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation.
8.
Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to supervisors.
9.
Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.
10.
Ensure all kitchen equipment and tools are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
11.
Comply with HACCP guidelines and local health authority standards.
12.
Performs other duties assigned.
Qualification, Experience & Knowledge
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience as a Commis specializing in Street Food cuisine.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
