ServiceNow Enterprise Architect
About This Role
Position Overview
The ServiceNow Enterprise Architect will serve as the technical design authority for the
greenfield implementation of ServiceNow Employee Centre as the enterprise-wide omni-channel service platform.
This role is accountable for defining, governing, and assuring the full platform architecture across IT, HR, Finance, and Procurement domains, ensuring seamless integration with Oracle Fusion (HR, Finance, Procurement).
The Architect will operate as the client-side authority in a vendor-led implementation, responsible for preventing architectural debt, enforcing configuration discipline, protecting platform scalability, and establishing the long-term ServiceNow operating model for the client.
This role is not delivery-only. It includes design governance, technical risk ownership, integration assurance, and post-implementation sustainability
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Platform Architecture
• Define and document the end-to-end ServiceNow architecture for greenfield Employee Centre deployment.
• Establish architectural principles and guardrails to prevent over-customisation.
• Define domain separation strategy where required.
• Design service taxonomy structure across enterprise domains.
• Define CMDB strategy including class hierarchy, service mapping, and ownership model.
• Establish role-based access control framework including role inheritance and approval visibility logic.
• Define environment strategy (Dev, Test, UAT, Prod) and release governance model.
• Define DevOps alignment and source control integration approach.
• Establish upgrade-safe configuration standards.
• Own architectural decision log and technical risk register.
Employee Centre & Information Architecture
• Define Information Architecture including homepage structure, service categorisation, and
personalisation logic.
• Design contextual experience based on user role and organisational data.
• Define search strategy including metadata tagging, indexing, and knowledge alignment.
• Establish governance model for catalogue growth and taxonomy control.
• Ensure scalability and maintainability of UI Builder configuration.
Integration Architecture & Workforce Lifecycle Orchestration
• Define event-driven architecture between:
o Oracle Fusion HR (authoritative workforce source)
o Oracle Finance and Procurement modules
o Saviynt IGA
• Define payload contracts, transformation standards, and validation controls.
• Establish synchronous vs asynchronous integration design.
• Define idempotency and reconciliation strategies.
• Define integration authentication model including OAuth 2.0 and token lifecycle handling.
• Define error handling, retry logic, and monitoring framework.
• Ensure closed-loop provisioning confirmation from Saviynt.
Security & Compliance
• Ensure alignment with ISO 27001 and enterprise security standards.
• Enforce least-privilege access model.
• Define field-level security for sensitive HR data.
• Validate segregation of duties within workflows.
• Ensure audit logging, traceability, and compliance reporting capability.
Vendor Governance & Technical Assurance
• Act as technical design authority in all design reviews.
• Approve High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation.
• Prevent unnecessary custom scripting.
• Challenge vendor design decisions where misaligned to enterprise architecture.
• Enforce performance and scalability standards.
• Ensure 100% documentation completeness before production release.
Operational Sustainability & Transition
• Define long-term ServiceNow operating model.
• Define service ownership RACI model.
• Establish KPI framework for platform performance.
• Define hypercare governance and cutover strategy.
• Ensure complete knowledge transfer to internal teams.
• Prepare platform for sustainable BAU operation post-engagement.
Experience
• 8–12 years ServiceNow experience.
• Proven greenfield enterprise implementation experience.
• Demonstrated experience acting as technical authority in vendor-led programmes.
• Strong Integration Hub and enterprise API integration experience.
• Experience integrating with Oracle Fusion HR or similar ERP platforms.
• Experience integrating with IAM platforms such as Saviynt or SailPoint.
• Experience designing workforce lifecycle automation (JML).
• Experience defining ServiceNow operating model and governance frameworks.
• ServiceNow Certified System Architect strongly preferred.
Skills
• Enterprise architecture mindset with strong technical depth.
• Strong understanding of identity lifecycle and access governance.
• Strong understanding of API authentication models.
• Ability to design scalable, upgrade-safe configurations.
• Strong stakeholder and executive communication skills.
• Ability to manage technical risk and enforce standards.
• Strong documentation discipline and structured thinking.
