We’re looking for a Service Controller to join our growing Service team at Skelmersdale .

Using your HGV and industry knowledge , you’ll monitor VORs and service performance, manage repair costs and vehicle budgets, identify recurring issues, and use your problem-solving and strong relationship-building skills to ensure repairs are handled efficiently and the highest levels of service are delivered.

What will you be doing?

As a Service Controller, you will develop and maintain strong working relationships with our customers, internal network and external maintenance providers.

You will attend customer and supplier meetings, both on and off site, to resolve issues and support the delivery of a high-quality service.

You’ll take calls and emails relating to vehicle breakdowns and defects, accurately record details on the system and allocate work to the appropriate repairer whilst maintaining effective communication with customers and suppliers.

You’ll also monitor downtime, proactively managing repairs to minimise delays and return vehicles to service as quickly as possible.

You’ll monitor and authorise repair costs within agreed authority limits and manage vehicle budgets.

You’ll also identify problematic vehicles, recurring issues and poor-performing service providers, taking appropriate action to address issues and improve performance.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is a confident and capable communicator and who is confident with the use of MS Office.

You'll ideally have:

Experience from within a Service Controller role or similar.

Excellent Customer service skills along with great administration skills and the ability to prioritise and multi-task while working accurately and within deadlines.

An understanding of the Transport industry (required)

working with specialist vehicles (preferable)

Computer literacy with the ability to confidently use MS Office and CRM systems.
