Role overview
Work closely with ERA-co Urban Strategy and Masterplanning leaders on urban design and masterplanning projects.
The role spans multiple clients, contexts, timelines, time zones, and deliverables in a global business.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual urban design frameworks and masterplans aligned with project objectives, site conditions, and sustainability goals.
- Manage masterplans through detailed stages, working with the Project Leader or Principal.
- Refine concepts with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams; coordinate projects and sub-consultants.
- Mentor junior staff and support new-client engagement and business development.
- Present design concepts clearly and collaborate with architects, landscape architects, and engineers.
Experience and qualifications
- Requires 5–8+ years of postgraduate urban-design experience or equivalent and a degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline.
- A postgraduate Urban Design qualification is advantageous.
- Requires experience developing large-scale masterplans from vision through Detailed Master Plan.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UAE when applying.
Skills and tools
- Requires strong concept and design skills, masterplanning knowledge, and the ability to manage detailed masterplan development.
- Relevant software includes Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, and GIS; Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop are also specified.
- Requires proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel and the ability to create compelling 3D models and visual presentations.
- Learning additional tools and incorporating AI is highly desired.
