About The Role
- Mott MacDonald are currently looking for a Senior Transport Planner to support the delivery of on-going projects and also support the company’s positioning for prospects in the marketplace.
- Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Technical delivery and management of small and medium transport projects with minimal supervision.
- Prepare high quality written reports and technical analysis with ability to present outcomes
- Prepare technical and financial bids and engage in business development activity
- Assume the role of Project Manager on medium-sized projects taking responsibility for the successful delivery
- Remain point of contact for clients, addressing needs and queries on assigned projects
- Manage project finances (including invoicing and contract/commercial management), tracking progress and budget on assigned projects ensuring commercial success
- Provide management and direction of sub-consultants on assigned projects
- Demonstrate the ability to use initiative to solve the majority of problems that could occur on a project
- Develop an understanding of Mott MacDonald methodologies and project management principles, and implement on live projects
- Skills in managing own time and the time of others, setting priorities for others in order to meet deadline.
- Candidate specifications
- Bachelors in Transportation and Civil Engineering; A MSc in Transport Planning or in Civil Engineering would be highly advantageous.
- Membership to a professional institution affiliated to the transport sector.
- Highly competent in the use of junction capacity analysis software SIDRA, Synchro and HCS.
- Working experience of using industry standard transport modelling software such as CUBE (STEAM) and/or VISSIM/VISUM.
- Abu Dhabi project experience required.
- A self-starter and the ability to work both alone and in teams resolving complex tasks.
- Experience in making sound judgements on complex and sensitive issues.
- Experience of managing working on multi-disciplinary proposals.
