Senior Technical Software Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy complex product solutions; conduct technical design reviews and apply suitable architecture patterns.
• Promote engineering practices, development automation, lean development, built-in quality, test-driven development, and agile practices.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and blameless incident post-mortems; investigate, debug, and resolve complex issues.
• Assess solution viability and future requirements with cross-functional teams; create designs, proofs of concept, and prototypes.
• Evaluate technologies and present alternatives for architectural review; contribute to sprint planning and technology communities of practice.
• Mentor engineers, oversee technical delivery and standards, and ensure approved use of enterprise platforms, tools, and libraries.
• Perform corrective, adaptive, preventative, and perfective product maintenance with other capabilities.

Qualifications and experience

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of Information Technology experience and at least five years of Java application development with Spring Boot.

Knowledge and skills

• Java 8, 11, or 21+; Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring WebFlux, JPA, Hibernate, and JUnit or TestNG.
• ReactJS, NextJS, Solace, Tibco, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Hybrid cloud architecture (AWS or Azure), Oracle SQL or similar RDBMS, NoSQL, and RESTful APIs.
• CI/CD, DevOps, lean and test-driven development, automated deployments, event-driven architecture, reactive programming, and SRE principles.
• Technology evaluation, vendor selection, DevOps platforms, production support, problem-solving, and agile development.
• AI/ML, Generative AI, LLM integrations, AI agents, and intelligent automation are advantageous.
