Senior Technical Engineer / Associate Director, Solution Architecture

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee architectural solutions and set direction aligned with business goals.
• Develop a Java proof of concept within the POD and demonstrate its outcome.
• Guide architecture strategy with senior stakeholders and build, manage, hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team.
• Promote collaboration, innovation, architectural best practices, industry standards, and awareness of emerging technology.
• Manage vendor and partner relationships and assess whether solutions meet architectural standards.
• Provide strategic guidance and drive innovation and excellence in solutions supporting organizational goals.
• Manage time and delegate responsibilities.

Requirements

• Modern architecture experience across monolith decomposition, APIs, microservices, data foundations, and cloud PaaS/IaaS capabilities.
• Deep understanding of MongoDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, and cloud-based products.
• Exposure to Java, Spring, JavaScript, CSS/HTML5, and React; hands-on Java development and debugging.
• Experience with event-driven design and streaming; Kafka and GCP Pub/Sub are cited as preferred examples.
• Experience with messaging and integration technologies; MQ and IBM Connect:Direct are cited as preferred examples.
• Experience with resilience patterns, non-functional requirements, database selection, middleware integration, and performance optimization.
