Senior Systems & Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview

What You Will Do

• Own complex infrastructure incident and escalation resolution.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, identity, authentication, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Troubleshoot VMware or Hyper-V, servers, storage, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, routing, and switching.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity systems.
• Execute infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and modernization projects.
• Perform root-cause analysis and prevent recurring problems.
• Use PowerShell, scripting, automation, and technical documentation to improve reliability.
• Work with clients, vendors, and engineers and provide occasional onsite support.

Required Experience

• Substantial hands-on experience supporting production IT infrastructure and resolving complex technical problems.
• Strong experience with Microsoft infrastructure, virtualization, networking, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Strong hands-on proficiency across most listed technologies, with deeper expertise in several areas.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently, take ownership, and communicate with technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Willingness and ability to provide occasional onsite support in the New York City metropolitan area.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required, and visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Additional Experience

• MSP, technology consulting, or comparable complex internal IT experience is strongly preferred.
• Exchange, hybrid Exchange, Citrix CVAD, Citrix NetScaler or ADC, advanced VMware, and advanced networking experience are advantageous.
• Veeam or similar backup platforms, PowerShell, infrastructure migrations, and major upgrades are advantageous.

Workplace

• Much of the work can be performed remotely.
• Occasional onsite work at client locations in the New York City metropolitan area is an important part of the position.

Compensation and Benefits

• The anticipated annual salary range is $90,000 to $120,000, depending on experience and demonstrated technical capabilities.
