What you will do
- You will own supplier industrialization, quality assurance, capacity verification and launch readiness for an assigned portfolio within Cab Exterior and Cab Interior. You will help suppliers deliver components that consistently meet dimensional, appearance, functional and durability requirements, from sourcing through stable production. The scope may include exterior panels and trim, molded and composite components, lighting, glazing and sealing systems, seats, interior trim and other cab systems. The assigned portfolio will reflect business needs and your technical expertise. Your responsibilities Lead supplier industrialization from sourcing through Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), phased Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), launch and stable production. Assess supplier manufacturing feasibility, process capability, quality systems and readiness. Identify risks early and drive recovery plans with clear owners, milestones and escalation. Plan and execute supplier capacity verification, including Run-at-Rate and Significant Production Runs, and verify sustainable output against agreed production requirements. Lead supplier audits and process reviews. Review and approve Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs), Control Plans, measurement systems and PPAP evidence within delegated authority. Participate in sourcing, design, technical specification, tooling and manufacturing feasibility reviews with Purchasing, Engineering and suppliers. Verify that critical and significant characteristics are controlled through capable processes, mistake-proofing, appropriate inspection, traceability and segregation of nonconforming parts. Assess commodity-specific risks such as molding and coating capability, appearance consistency, dimensional stability, fit and finish, sealing, assembly interfaces and functional performance, as applicable to the assigned components. Lead supplier investigations and corrective actions. Verify root cause, containment effectiveness and sustainable results at the supplier, including updates to PFMEAs, Control Plans and work instructions. Coordinate with Supplier Quality Plant teams, Plant Quality and Engineering to protect production, establish supplier clean points and prevent recurrence while maintaining clear functional ownership. Manage quality risks associated with product, process, tooling, material and manufacturing-location changes, including required validation and PPAP updates. Maintain accurate supplier readiness and performance information in Volvo systems. Communicate risks, decisions needed and recovery progress clearly to stakeholders. Coach other SQEs and share effective practices across commodity teams and regional and global SNQ networks. Who are you? You take ownership, act on evidence and follow through. You work closely with suppliers and colleagues to resolve risks early, protect customers and achieve sustainable improvement.
