Senior Structural Engineer - Site

Position summary

Technical review

• Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, temporary works submissions, and engineering calculations.
• Review contractor design proposals and alternative solutions; verify compliance with IFC drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and design intent.
• Evaluate calculations for reinforced concrete, structural steel, precast, secondary steel, and specialty structures.
• Review value engineering proposals and provide recommendations to the Resident Engineer and Client.

Multidisciplinary coordination

• Coordinate structural requirements with architectural, MEP, infrastructure, façade, theming, landscape, and ride engineering teams.
• Identify and resolve discipline clashes; participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and technical coordination meetings.
• Review interfaces between structural systems and themed elements, show sets, ride systems, special equipment, and architectural features.

Theming and entertainment projects

• Review supports for themed facades, artificial rockwork, scenic elements, show action equipment, attraction structures, and specialty installations.
• Coordinate with theming contractors and ride vendors to ensure structural compatibility and compliance with approved design.
• Assess support frames, secondary steel, themed cladding supports, and suspended themed elements.
• Support review of mock-ups, prototypes, themed features, and specialty fabrication submissions.

Construction and contract support

• Guide site supervision teams on structural construction activities and evaluate site issues, field changes, and construction deviations.
• Propose engineering solutions, support responses to contractor RFIs and technical queries, and help resolve complex construction and coordination issues.
• Prepare timely technical comments on contractor submissions; review variation requests and claims and provide engineering recommendations.
• Participate in change management and design development reviews where required.

Role requirements

• Extensive experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel, and themed entertainment projects.
• Structural submissions must be assessed against contract requirements, design intent, international standards, project specifications, codes, and local authority regulations.
• The role coordinates with architecture, MEP, façade, theming, ride, infrastructure, landscape, and specialist contractors and vendors.
