Responsibilities

• Analyze and design steel structures and concrete foundations to applicable codes and standards for mining and heavy industry.
• Prepare sketches and collaborate with designers on detailed drawings.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, and scope documents.
• Develop detailed working drawings for steel, concrete, wood, and masonry.
• Apply safety and integrity principles in structural documentation.
• Deliver technical presentations and white papers and contribute to local office culture.

Background and qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of project engineering, design, and construction experience in surface and underground mining.
• Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Heavy-industry design and construction experience, including structural inspection and assessment.
• Hands-on structural analysis and design experience, including steel, reinforced concrete, buildings, and heavy equipment foundations; mining experience preferred.
• Active membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Familiarity with Mine Health and Safety Regulations; mining-process knowledge is an asset.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro and understanding of Saudi engineering codes and technical standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD, and BIM tools.
• Experience writing reports and specifications and preparing material take-offs for cost estimates.
• Environmental structures experience is considered an asset.
• Professional communication, presentation skills, and conduct are expected.
