Senior Structural Engineer

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education & Licensing
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university and a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of the posted position. Advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience
• Ten (10) + years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required with some introduction to in the forensic sciences discipline. Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, procedures, general terms, conditions, nomenclature, etc. associated with the insurance industry and assigned area of engineering specialty. Forensic Engineering investigation experience is a plus. Documented experience in structural design of wood, steel and reinforced concrete.

• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products

• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment

• WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Travel, at least, 30-40% of the time. Can be local or across provincial boundaries.
• Exposure to all elements of the weather
• Walking, climbing, etc., as required
• Occasional lifting, up to 50 pounds, as required
• 40-60% work in field environment
