The engineer leads structural design, analysis, and review for building and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare and check structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders through the project lifecycle.
- Oversee site inspections, monitor construction against design, and resolve technical issues.
- Support value engineering and structural-system optimization.
- Mentor junior engineers, support tender evaluations, and contribute to technical proposals.
- Participate in quality control and safety initiatives across projects.
Qualifications and experience
- Strong structural analysis and design expertise for reinforced concrete and steel structures, using applicable codes and standards.
- Examples of standards include Eurocodes, ACI, BS, and local Qatari regulations.
- Proficiency with structural software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD, Robot, or similar, and CAD/BIM tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience with building projects including towers, residential compounds, hospitals, hotels, schools, and mixed-use developments; Gulf experience is preferred.
- Ability to interpret architectural and MEP drawings, coordinate multidisciplinary designs, and provide constructability and value-engineering input.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, site practices, structural supervision, inspection, and quality assurance.
- Analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and collaboration skills; attention to detail and safety focus.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and work with contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
