Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Design building structural systems in compliance with local authority requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and team members on innovative, cost-effective client solutions.
• Review engineering designs for quality and safety.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians.
• Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are followed throughout project execution.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or structural engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 8 years of structural engineering experience, focused on building design.
• Track record designing building and civil engineering or infrastructure-related structures in reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.
• Experience with water-retaining structures, building structures, steelwork, or related infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including MEP, architecture, and utilities.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro, and CAD tools.
• Strong project management skills, including leading teams and managing project budgets and schedules.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a record of delivering safe, high-quality engineering projects.

Technical qualifications

• Experience working in a 3D design environment is required; working to BIM protocols is desirable.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
• Knowledge of retail, commercial, or industrial sector practices is advantageous.
