Role purpose

Lead static equipment engineering for fertilizer capital projects across an ammonia and urea complex.

Support equipment from concept and feasibility through FEED, detailed design, and procurement.

Promote safety, environmental, quality, process safety, and information security standards throughout project phases.

Engineering and project delivery

  • Lead equipment sizing and selection studies and develop design philosophies for new units and modifications.
  • Prepare FEED equipment lists, design bases, and preliminary datasheets; review licensor and contractor packages.
  • Review detailed designs, calculations, and drawings; resolve design, materials, and fabrication queries.
  • Prepare and review specifications, datasheets, and requisitions for pressure vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, filters, and other pressure equipment.
  • Evaluate vendor bids and verify compliance with ASME/API codes and company specifications.
  • Review vendor calculations, material certificates, and inspection and test plans.
  • Support fabrication, inspection, testing, and commissioning to resolve structural or material anomalies.
  • Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and PSM assessments for static equipment design hazards.
  • Manage project time, cost, quality, and interfaces with engineering disciplines, procurement, EPC contractors, and consultants.
  • Maintain company design standards and specifications, capture lessons learned, and mentor Static Equipment Engineers.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 8–12 years of static equipment engineering experience, including equipment specification, technical bid evaluation, and vendor design review.
  • Ammonia and urea project experience is preferred.
  • API 510, API 570, or API 653 certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII and project procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, PV Elite, or CAESAR II.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and fluency in English.
